Mighty Coulson Chinook N42CU and team were honoured to play a starring role at the 100 year celebration of Essendon Fields Airport in Melbourne in March.
As part of the special open day, the local community had the opportunity to see this Chinook up close and personal, and to chat to the team about its aerial firebombing capabilities.
N42CU was based at Essendon Fields Airport for the summer. Thanks to Essendon Fields for the invitation, and to the community members who showed such interest in it.
“Essendon Fields Airport was finally able to host its centenary open day on Sunday, despite the actual 100th birthday being last year. Organisers estimated that a crowd of 20,000 to 25,000 people attended the event which included a mix of aviation displays and other entertainment.”
